Re: 1st 5k training?

First, I'd like to say congratulations for taking this on. Getting started running so late in life and all, that alone is an accomplishment. I wish you all the best. The only thing I'd say is do...

Re: I can't get rid of stubborn belly fat.

I vote for cardio. 12 years in the military has taught me that crunches and sit ups alone won't get rid of a belly. You have to do cardio. Sure, you can do crunches or sit ups, but that alone won't...

This is all just nonsense. When I was a kid I ate a snack almost every day. I loved fudge brownies. But I was physically active. Today's kids are obese, not because they eat the wrong foods or too...

Re: training with cadence

lol

The military has become a hiding place for PC wussies. Cadence is great for running. That's why the military uses them. They're motivational and they provide a rhythm to run to. You take your...

Re: Do u guys shave ur legs?

I've never shaved my legs in my life. Or my armpits. I have shaved my face, but not any more.

Re: To stretch or not to stretch...

I fully agree. I start and end every session with stretches. Before I run I have a warm up session and stretch. After the run I have a cool down period and stretch. The warm up includes running in...

Re: Still on my couch - for the moment

Welcome, PCM. Glad to see you taking up the art of running. Have you worked out a plan yet? I'd suggest starting small if you've never run before. Start by walking a quarter mile, then running a...
