I am a walker not a runner.

I can't run as my ankles always swell up and then begin to ache so bad, that I am reduced to hobbles. So I walk to get my exercise and was wondering if anyone else walks here on this forum. If so, how much do you walk a day? Currently I walk 5 miles a day+. I have also started to lose a bit of weight and my blood pressure is going down. I am trying to lose about 40 pounds altogether. I need to change how I eat and drink more water though.

I believe walking can be just as beneficial as running. If you are walking 5+ miles a day, you are getting the maximum benefits from walking. Walking and running are both great, provided you are consistent and keep at it.

Walking is good! I usually walk for ten minutes in the beginning of my run and 10 minutes in the end! Maybe you could slowly get into the groove of run/walking? That would be the next fun thing, you'd be able to get more miles in! Happy Walking!
